Services
Classic Computer Recovery Inc. (CCR) manages the receipt, disposal, and re-use of personal computers, laptops, monitors, fax machines, copiers, cell phones, POS technology, and UNIX-based equipment. Unlike the competition, CCR offers the highest value for this equipment. We also have a competitive advantage when it may become necessary to dispose of your equipment if your equipment exceeds a marketable value. We are the most inexpensive recycler in the Midwest.
We offer a wide variety of asset services including:
Asset Removal
If you have a large amount of equipment that you need properly packed and removed, CCR can pallet, shrinkwrap, and pick up your items for a fee. Arrangements just need to be made in advance.
Remarketing
All remarketable items are refurbished/repaired and tested for possible remarket as a “whole unit”. Fully functional units are then recycled back into the market via resale for their original intended use. CCR maximizes resale possibilities through many long-time associations in the wholesale and retail markets for whole units as well as parts harvesting where units can not be sold as “whole”. The company always has an inventory of working, warranted computers and components available for re-sale.
Technical Management
All inventory collected by CCR, Inc. is evaluated through a multi-step process and tested for serviceability.
For resellable equipment: Units are refurbished with working components. Any missing components are installed. Functionality is tested through diagnostics programs. Data existing on hard drives is wiped via three different methods (See Data Destruction). Property tags are removed where necessary.
For non-resellables: Units are completely broken down into separate components. Components that are still functional are resold as spare parts. Components that are non-functional, or are too old for resale, are recycled to reclaim the raw materials.
Storage Device Data Removal
CCR, Inc. is keenly sensitive to the delicate nature of confidential information collected by corporations and government entities and acknowledges data destruction is a critical function of the disposition process. CCR, Inc. has the equipment to delete data per the DOD (Department of Defense) 5200.28-STD directive. CCR will never subcontract data destruction or data wiping.
Note: All media disks and tape cassettes are crushed/shredded and recycled as plastic scrap.
All jobs which require Data Destruction or Data wiping are sent directly from the customer’s site to our secure facility regardless of which state the jobs are picked up from. Our security procedures passed an audit by the State of Michigan and we have a written and verbal personnel training process that is auditable.
Spare Parts Services
Disassembly of units into usable and unusable parts. Functional spare parts are used in two ways: To refurbish units that arrive with either missing or defective components or to supply resellers and service providers with needed components.
Electronics Recycling
CCR focuses on the recycling of electronic equipment as a “for-profit-business”, which also assists the EPA in lowering the amount of electronic equipment disposed of through landfills which can be hazardous to the environment. Units are refurbished and introduced back in to the market whenever possible. If a product is not remarketable, it is recycled to reclaim materials by type: plastic, metal, glass, lead-based glass, circuit boards, etc. Certificates of Recycling are issued for all equipment recovered by CCR and given to our customers.
Asset Management
CCR, Inc. provides this service on a per-unit basis fee. We can manage the recovery, redeployment, and/or disposal of your owned or leased equipment in a secure and environmentally responsible manner while giving you the most value for your assets.
Asset Documentation (Serial Number Tracking)
All property tags are removed from equipment that is re-marketed. As a standard business practice, CCR issues “Certificates of Recycling” with reports that include serial numbers for whole units such as monitors, computers and printers, and all supporting documentation by weight for every electronic item collected. When requested, CCR provides “Certificates of Destruction” when clients request multiple whole units or prototypes to be shredded (not to be resold in whole or in parts, under any circumstances). A “Detailed Settlement Reporting” form is provided by CCR, Inc. with serial numbers. Additionally, CCR, Inc. recycles every item, without exception, to uphold our 0% landfill policy. No materials are sent from CCR, Inc. to landfills. However, all Plastics Recyclers admit that some portions of the plastics go to landfills after they have been processed and shredded. NOTE: Certificates of Destruction are only issued when clients request specific items to be destroyed or shredded with no possibility of any part or component being resold.
Redeployment
CCR, Inc. provides this service on a per-unit basis fee. The same wireless automation tracking and reporting used for recycling is also used for re-deployment. We will take care of reporting, tracking, storage, freight, and hauling in these instances.
Lease Return Management
CCR, Inc. provides this service on a per-unit basis fee. We will run diagnostics checks, provides specs, and repackages the units for resale by the Lessor. CCR, Inc. also provides the reporting, tracking, storage, freight, and hauling.
